Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-10-17 (draft)
These terms are the deal between you and Ark & Dove Candle Co LLC ("we", "us") for using BatchLab. Please read them. If you do not agree, do not use BatchLab.
1. Who can use BatchLab
- BatchLab is for businesses in the United States only.
- You must be 18 or older and able to make a contract for your business.
- If you sign up for a business, you promise you can accept these terms for it.
2. Your account
- You sign in with a 6-digit code we email to you. Keep your email account safe. Anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Tell us at once if you think someone else got in.
- Give us a real email address that you can read.
- One account is for one business for now.
3. Free trial and paid plan
- You get a 14-day free trial. It needs no card.
- You can pick a monthly or yearly plan at any time, during the trial or after it. The price is the price shown at checkout, before you pay.
- If you pick a plan during the trial, your card is first charged when the trial ends. In the trial's last 2 days, it is charged right away. The plan you pick starts as soon as you pick it: from then on you have that plan's features and limits instead of the trial's.
- If the trial ends and you have not picked a plan, the account is read-only. You can still look at your data and export it.
- Paid plans renew by themselves each month or each year, until you cancel. We charge the card you gave at checkout, through Stripe.
- For yearly plans, we email you a reminder before the plan renews, about 14 days ahead. [VERIFY]
- Prices do not include sales tax. If we start charging sales tax, it shows at checkout before you pay.
- If we change a price, we tell you before it applies to you. The new price starts at your next renewal.
- If a payment fails, we will email you. If it is not fixed, access can become read-only. [VERIFY]
4. Canceling and refunds
You can cancel any time. Open Account, press Manage billing, and cancel on the Stripe page. You do not need to email us. Access continues to the end of the period you paid for. After that, the account is read-only and Export still works.
The rules for refunds are on the Refunds and Cancellation page. That page is part of these terms.
5. Your data
- You own your data. This includes your records, recipes, photos, and customer list. We do not own it.
- You give us permission to store, copy, and process it, only so we can run BatchLab for you, support you when you ask, keep BatchLab secure, and meet legal duties.
- We do not read, sell, or use your data for our own purposes, apart from that.
- You may export everything at any time.
- Your customer list holds personal data about other people. You are the business that controls it, and we are your processor. You must have the right to store it and use it in BatchLab. The Privacy Policy explains this in detail, and it is part of these terms.
- You must follow the laws that apply to your customers' data, such as how you contact them.
6. What you may not do
- Break the law, or use BatchLab to harm others.
- Upload viruses or anything that attacks BatchLab or other people.
- Try to get into another business's data, or test our security without our written OK.
- Copy or scrape BatchLab, or resell access to it.
- Upload photos or files you do not have the right to use.
- Overload the service, or work around limits we set, such as plan limits or rate limits.
If you break these rules, we may warn you, remove content, or suspend the account. We will tell you why when we can. To report abuse or a copyright problem, email support@getbatchlab.com. [VERIFY]
7. Invoice reading with AI
This feature is optional. When you use it, the file you upload goes to Anthropic to be read (see the Subprocessors page). The result can be wrong. Always check it before you save it. The feature may have a monthly limit that depends on your plan.
8. Not advice
- BatchLab's cost, margin, and pricing numbers are tools. They are not accounting, tax, or legal advice. Check important numbers with a professional.
- Candle safety, labeling, and testing are your job. That includes burn tests, warnings, ingredient rules, and the laws for selling your products. BatchLab helps you keep records. It does not make your products safe or legal.
9. The service itself
- We work hard to keep BatchLab running. We do not promise it will always be available or error free.
- We may change, add, or remove features. We will give notice of big changes when we can.
- We back up our systems every day and keep backups for 30 days. That is for our recovery. Please keep your own exports as well.
10. Ending the deal
- You can cancel the plan or delete your account at any time.
- We may suspend or close an account for breaking these terms, for fraud, or for non-payment. We will tell you why when we can.
- When an account ends, it becomes read-only and Export stays available. We keep the data until you delete the account, as the Privacy Policy says.
11. No warranty
BatchLab is provided "as is" and "as available". To the most the law allows, we give no promises about it, spoken or written. That includes promises that it fits a particular purpose or will not have errors. [VERIFY]
12. Limit on what we owe
- To the most the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or lost-profit losses, or for lost data you did not export.
- Our total liability to you for anything related to BatchLab is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. If you paid nothing, it is 100 dollars. [VERIFY]
- Some states do not allow some of these limits. Where that is so, they apply only as far as the law lets. [VERIFY]
13. If someone makes a claim because of your content
If a third party makes a claim against us because of the data you put in BatchLab, or because you broke these terms, you will cover the reasonable costs of dealing with it. [VERIFY]
14. Florida law and disputes
- Florida law governs these terms.
- If we have a problem, please email us first. Most things can be settled by talking.
- If we cannot settle it, the dispute goes to the state courts in Manatee County, Florida, or the federal court for the Middle District of Florida. There is no arbitration.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will email the account owner at least 30 days before an important change starts. If you keep using BatchLab after that, the new terms apply. You can cancel at any time. [VERIFY]
16. Other things
- These terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Refunds page are the whole deal between us.
- If a part of these terms is not enforceable, the rest still applies.
- If we do not enforce a right right away, we have not given it up.
- You cannot hand your account to someone else without our OK. If we sell or merge the company, we may hand these terms to the new owner.
- We give notices to the email on your account.
